KENYAN SCHOOLS' FEES BREAKDOWN EFFECTIVE FROM 2018
On 24th November 2017, the Ministry of Education released a circular that was signed by Masese Robert N.M on behalf of the Principal Secretary explaining the new structure of school fees Kenyan parents are supposed to pay in the following year[2018 and beyond].
This was a relief to parents who used to pay hiked fees that dwarfed the cost of education in a university in a country engulfed by cartels and corrupt beureaucrats. This exercise was seen as the government effort to enroll students to secondary schools straight from primary school as a direct transition to reduce dropouts. Below is a breakdown of the school fees that Kenyan secondary schools are supposed to implement. day schools fees structure
​Boarding schools fees structure- category A: all National schools and extra county schools in the following towns: Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu and Eldoret.
​Boarding schools fees structure- category B: boarding schools and extra county schools in other areas
