How to make a Genius out of yourself

3/1/2016

Are geniuses made or born? Valerie Strauss wrote something on the Washington Post that defines what a genius is:
  • “Both born and made. You can’t become a genius without a tremendous amount of work. You have to acquire sufficient expertise in an achievement domain to know what you’re talking about or what you’re doing. You cannot acquire such expertise in most domains without have a certain level of intelligence and considerable drive and persistence. And these traits are to a certain degree genetic. If you’re born “stupid and lazy” forget about earning a Nobel Prize in Physics!”
But I am not going to elaborate or liken you to world’s proved geniuses like Bill Gates, Einstein, Jack Andraka the list is big. The most important thing now is to get the best out of yourself; it’s what matters and that will be the unique characteristic of yourself that you have never discovered.
World’s most successful people in terms of Academia and any other areas coveted by humans as a field of success have had almost the same characteristics. They have used the same formula over and over again – this is what makes them successful and this is the difference between you and them.
A close look at case study, I will conclude by illustrating the following factors that you can use to rise up to the glorious moments of your true self.

1. Start believing in yourself

Every human being believes in something; but the most important thing is to believe in oneself. Believing brings forth faith which in turn stresses what you believe, in the subconscious memory. Indeed its through believe that you can master your concept. The main difference between success and failure is desire and desire is brought forth by faith a power of believing in something. Start now!
Consider these quotes:
  • In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can. - Nikos Kazantzakis
  • Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. -Steve Jobs
  • Believe you can and you're halfway there. -Theodore Roosevelt

2. Burn with a strong desire

Desire means a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen. Desire and belief go hand in hand, you cannot believe without desire, you must show a strong interest in it. In academics, you must show a strong desire to passing and this will bring forth a habit that will eventually give birth to a culture. Success is inhibited with a strong culture. Which creates a conducive environment for success to flourish; Roger that!
Consider these quotes:
  • The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential... these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence. –Confucius
  • The starting point of all achievement is desire. -Napoleon Hill
  • Successful people ask questions. They seek new teachers. They’re always learning. – Robert Kiyosaki

3. Use the power of repetition

Repetition can be powerful in three ways. First, as we repeat something, like a sports move or a piano piece, we move toward mastering it. Second, we can accomplish a giant task with frequent small actions toward the goal. Third, repetition creates habits.
When you use the power of mastery or repetition, you pass the concept to your sub conscious memory (You are aware of something on the outside as well as some specific mental functions happening on the inside). This is the only outstanding secret to performing especially if your want to pass sciences. Repeat the same content over and over again; this will push the concept from the short-term memory to the long-term memory (this is the reason why you can’t forget your name). If you use the power of repetition efficiently, you will be brimming with confidence, experience and self believe. This is the god of perfection, precision and accuracy. Roger that!
Consider these quotes:
  • When it comes to mastering a skill, time is the magic ingredient. Assuming your practice proceeds at a steady level, over days and weeks certain elements of the skill become hardwired. Slowly, the entire skill becomes internalized, part of your nervous system. The mind is no longer mired in the details, but can see the larger picture. It is a miraculous sensation and practice will lead you to that point, no matter the talent level you are born with – Robert Green
  • Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality. - Earl Nightingale
  • Any idea, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought. -Napoleon Hill
  • Repetition of the same thought or physical action develops into a habit which, repeated frequently enough, becomes an automatic reflex. -Norman Vincent Peale

4. Discipline is the government of ability

Discipline is behavior in accord with rules of conduct; behavior and order maintained  by  training  and  control:
To effectively follow your set objectives, discipline must used to drive your missions. This is very important in maintaining the order of flow of events, Discipline sets high moral values and it’s a virtue that most successful people have used to climb to great heights. Discipline creates an environment of harmony, ethics and understanding
Consider these quotes:
  • Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. -Jim Rohn
  • Without hard work and discipline it is difficult to be a top professional. -Jahangir Khan
  • Success isn't measured by money or power or social rank. Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace. -Mike Ditka

5. Time dictates success

Time used well dictates success. Time is used to measure how patient or impatient you are, it’s a scientific and natural standard unit for measuring period. Most successful people have used time well, they understand that time is more important than money and this brings forth the understanding of living one life at a time. Time is the difference between the successful people and failures in life
Consider these quotes:
  • The only difference between a rich person and poor person is how they use their time – Robert Kiyosaki
  • Time and tide wait for no man. -Geoffrey Chaucer
  • Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. -M. Scott Peck

6. Be Innovative

Innovation is a new idea, more effective device or process. Innovation can be viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements
Use improvised ways to sort your challenges; don’t be a bureaucrat or a reservist who always uses old solutions for new challenges. We as human have intelligence to think outside the box, that is what makes us different from monkeys. Learning to use your intelligence for your utmost gain is the beginning of being unique. The world is crowded with people who think the same way and that is why successful people are few because they think differently. Turn every challenge into an opportunity and put your mind to work, never use the words like ‘I can’t’ instead use ‘I will’ no matter the magnitude of the problem at hand. Steve Jobs is one superb mind of innovate; he is the brain behind Ipads tablets, you too can emulate him in simple terms ‘invent new ideas to solve current challenges’ and try to be scientific in your approach.  Period!
Consider these quotes:
  • If you're not failing every now and again, it's a sign you're not doing anything very innovative. -Woody Allen
  • If you're gonna make connections which are innovative... you have to not have the same bag of experiences as everyone else does. -Steve Jobs
  • Americans understand that one of our great national strengths is innovation. Great innovators - Benjamin Franklin, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and others - are household names. -Robert Hormats
These six lessons can help you get the genius out of yourself. Am sure there are other factors not mentioned therein, however, the most important ones of all are the ones stated above. They represent others not mentioned and these are the secret ideas that successful people use to climb the ladder. The earlier you adopt them, the faster you start harvesting success – remember time factor. Don’t postpone what you can do today.
