What is Microsoft OneNote?

This is an application program sold as a package with other Microsoft Office application programs that helps you to gather, organize, find, and share your notes and information.

This program is not as popular as Excel, Access, Word and Publisher but it is one of the most powerful pieces of work you have in your computer under-utilized. 

You can use this program to also extract text from images, keep data, put your sticky notes, organize and customize your files including other countless functions it does.

What other tools do you need?

1. Screen capture software such as Duck Capture - Free Download

STEP 1:
OPEN MICROSOFT ONENOTE

STEP 2:
USE SCREEN SHOT SOFTWARE TO CAPTURE IMAGE FROM A  DOCUMENT AND PASTE IT ON ONENOTE

STEP 3:
RIGHT CLICK ON THE IMAGE AND SELECT 'COPY TEXT FROM PICTURE' OPTION

STEP 4:
​PUT THE CURSOR ON A BLANK AREA OF ONE NOTE AND PASTE (CTRL+V)

STEP 5:
DO FINAL EDITS TO REMOVE GRAMMAR AND SPELLING ERRORS

DOs

1. Do not copy large volumes of data. Screenshot a paragraph or maybe 2.
2. Before making a screenshot, zoom the source to capture clear image.
3. Always proofread pasted text to remove errors 

WHY EXTRACT TEXT FROM PICTURES?

1. You don't have time for typing. Do you? This process makes your typing obsolete because it is faster to conduct.
2. Can be pre-edited before exported to another document
3. Saves you money to hire extra personnel.
   
4. When images are clear, chances of conversion errors are minimal. 

WARNING!

Hand written images are almost impossible to convert. Better try Microsoft Voice-to-Text software.
