Explain how the kidney is adapted to its functionAdaptations for ultra-filtration
Adaptations for reabsorption
State the functions of the following parts of a nephron:(i) Loop of Henle (1mk)Reabsorption of H2O from the collecting duct (ii) Distal convoluted tubule (1mk)
Secretion of some drugs
The nephron is the minute or microscopic structural and functional unit of the kidney. It is composed of a renal corpuscle and a renal tubule. The renal corpuscle consists of a tuft of capillaries called a glomerulus and a cup-shaped structure called Bowman's capsule.
