3. Melting glaciers are sources of rivers, which provide water for domestic/ industrial / agricultural use.
4. In glaciated highlands, U – shaped valley floors provide suitable areas for settlement and agricultural, communication routes.
5. Alluvial fans / out-wash plains have fertile soils suitable for agriculture 
6. Provide suitable sits for the development of deep harbors
7. Floors provide shelter water suitable for fish breeding. This promotes fishing.
