  1. Zakat mal is paid when it has reached Nisab while fitr is given out during the month of Ramadhan.

Identify six factors that influenced the spread of Islam in North Eastern Kenya

  1. The sheiks from Somali land and from the Coast of Kenya
  2. The proximity of the Arabia to Somalis and the people of Southern Arabia
  3. The intermarriage between the Somali and the people of Hala helped the spread of Islamic.
  4. The nature and lifestyle of the Somali community moving from one place to another in search of water helped
  5. The hospitality of the Somali community in welcoming visitors and being generous to them also helped the spread of Islam
  6. The Somali culture, which closely related to that of Arabs helped easily acceptance of the Islam by the Somalis.
  7. The establishment of Maula (temporary mosques) and late Madarasas and duksi further helped the spread of the Islam in Northern Kenya.
