Explain the interpersonal relationships regarding how Muslims should solve their problems and relate with each other as ordained in Surah Hujrat (Quran 49)

24/3/2021

c. Explain the interpersonal relationships regarding how Muslims should solve their problems and relate with each other as ordained in Surah Hujrat (Quran 49) [10 Marks].

If two factions among the believers should fight, then peace between them should be made.
  1. If one party refuses to accept, then all then all believers should fight them until they oblige.
  2. When they oblige then just and equitable reconciliation between believers should always take precedence because for sure believers are brothers.
  3. A group of believers should not scoff, mock, despise or ridicule another group of believers, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Thus a believer should not make other people the object of jokes, scorn, sarcasm or mockery.
  4. Believers should not defame or slander one another. The wounds infli8cted through defamation in most cases are incurable and this may break the brotherhood between believers.
  5. Believers should not insult one another by calling each other by offensive nicknames. Calling one another by offensive names may crash the feeling of brotherhood.
  6. Believers should avoid suspicion as much as possible. Islamic brotherhood entails clear conscience and mutual trust and no doubts, suspicion, accusations and mistrust. Suspicions are sinful particularly when one has ill motives.
  7. Believers should not spy on one another. Spying is not allowed. This also breaks the bond of brotherhood.
  8. Muslims are forbidden from looking into other people’s houses without permission. This also involves listening clandestinely to other people’s conversations.
  9. Believers should not backbite one another or gossip out at their personal desire to belittle others. Backbite has been made equal to one eating the flesh of his dead brother.
  10. If the believers will observe the rules on interpersonal relationships, they will be practicing Islamic brotherhood as ordained in Surah Hujrat Quran 49.
