Explain any five types of fasting.

faradh: the fasting of the month of Ramadhan
qadha: observed to make up/ replace for days when one was unable to fast in the month of ramadhan due to sickness, travelling or any other legal reasons
kafara: performance of fasting by someone who broke the fast during ramadhan intentionally without a good reason
sunnah: this are fast which are not compulsory like fasting on Mondays and Thursdays
Nadhir: this is when a Muslim fasts as a way of thanksgiving to Allah(sw)

Menstruation .(heidh)
Sexual intercourse during the day. (While fasting)
Anything entering through the mouth or any other opening/eating and drinking intentionally.
Ceasing to be a Muslims
Vomiting intentionally
Losing of senses by fainting
Post-children bleeding (nifas)
Ejaculation internally/mastarbation
Having intentions to break saum
Acts of lying/cheating
Drinking internally
Smoking /sniffing intentionally/madness
Killing intentionally

Children under the age of puberty.
Insane people who are not accountable to their deeds.
Old men or women who are too old or weak to fast, but they have to offer at least, one needy/poor Muslim an average full meal or its value per day.
Sick people may postpone the fast as long as they are sick, to a later date and make up for it in the days, a day for a day.
People traveling distance of 50 miles or more may break the fast temporarily during the travel and make up for it in later days, a day for a day.
Expectant women and those breastfeeding.
Women in the period of menstruation (max 10 days)
Confinement women (max 40 days)
