  1. faradh: the fasting of the month of Ramadhan
  2. qadha: observed to make up/ replace for days when one was unable to fast in the month of ramadhan  due to sickness, travelling or any other legal reasons
  3. kafara: performance of fasting by someone who broke the fast during ramadhan intentionally without a good reason
  4. sunnah: this are fast which are not compulsory like fasting on Mondays and Thursdays
