  1. Women were down trodden and oppressed and denied any rights.They were  treated as property.

  3. The weak and physically challenged had no rights.
  4. Wine drinking and wild parties were the order of the day
  5. Immorality, prostitution arid indecency were prevalent in the society
  6. Rich men married as many wives as they possibly could and kept women/mistresses
  7. Makka was the centre of trade/trade flourished as a consequence there was prosperity
  8. Makka used to receive many visitors from other parts of Arabia who came to worship in the Kaaba and to visit the well of Zamzam.

  12. Among the Arabs lived a few Christians and Jewish communities.
  13. The Makkans also believed there were innumerable, jinn and ghouls who inhabited objects of nature and society.

  1. It is a divine responsibility/duty for human beings to take care of the rest of creation 
  2. including plants and animals. This responsibility is emphasized in the Quran and Hadith. 
  3. There are rewards promised for those who care for and show kindness to animals. 
  4. The Quran explains that nature and environment are signs of the existence of Allah 
  5. Plants constitute basic source of sustenance for human beings and animals. 
  6. Plants moderate the climate and produce oxygen. 
  7. The Quran talks of the aesthetic functions of animals and plants. 
  8. Animals and plants also worship Allah declaring his praise and bowing to Him. 
  9. While hunting and fishing are permitted in Islam, the Prophet cursed those who take away life for sport 
  10. The Prophet forbade people from lighting fires on anthills. 
  11. The Prophet ordered a man who took a nestling of a bird to return it to its place. 
  12. Muslims should conserve and protect the environment for animals to live in. 
  13. The prophet forbade people from needlessly and carelessly cutting down trees. 
  14. Muslims should preserve and conserve trees/forests. 
  15. The prophet forbade the killing of bees and any captured livestock in war and based on this Muslim scholars have mled that God's creatures possess inviolability (Hurmah).

  2. Instnicted the Sahabas to leave in small groups so as not to be noticed.
  3. Instnicted Ali to sleep in his bed so as to confuse the Quraish and surrender back peoples’ treasures.
  4. Hired a person who was well versed with the desert to guide him and Abubakar to Madina.
  5. Prepared Asma the daughter of Abubakar to be bringing them food while in the cave.
  6. Sent a spy Abdullahi to bring him news of the Quraish.
  7. Made plans to hide in a cave for three days so as to trick the Quraish which worked well for him.
  8. Planned well on the routes to take, distance to be covered by day before embarking on his journey.
  9. Signed the covenant of aqabah with the Yathribites who pledged to protect him against the Quraish.
