Systems analysts is a person who uses information systems skills to help organisations to work more quickly and efficiently by investigating an organization’s problem and then designing or adapting an information system to improve the way the it works.
Role of a system analyst:
Analyses and assesses the suitability of a system for computerization.
Documents the current systems so that everyone knows current capabilities and what needs to be changed and improved.
Collecting and Analyzing Requirements by sifting through all of the reports, diagrams, specifications and user interviews to make sense of what needs to be done.
Advice an organisation on the type of software/hardware to acquire and how to acquire it.
Monitors Systems through diagnosing system problems, making sure systems are cost-effective and performing to specifications, and escalating issues that arise.
Helps the programmer in training the staff on how newly implemented systems work and also help in implementation of new systems.
