Explain the functions of the High Court of Kenya
The High Court is a constitutional court which interprets the constitution to determine whether the dispute is constitutional or not.
It tries both criminal and civil cases/handling cases involving large amount of money.
It can listen to cases from all over the country
To correct mistakes made in decisions by the lower courts
To hear appeals from the Kadhis Court
Hears appeals from the Kadhis Court
It acts as a court of appeal for cases from Resident and Chief Magistrate’s Courts
It deals with petitions arising from elections (Presidential and (parliamentary)
