I think 8.4.4 has not fully utilized goal number three of national goals of education while CBC was able to tackle it.
Digital literacy has not been tackled well in the 8-4-4 curriculum due to lack of Digital gargets
8-4-4 was exam based. Dint focus on talents. Failing exams meant failure in life.
Goal number 2 because technology was not integrated in learning
I'd like to ask a question about the call of Abraham

Can someone expound on the second and third national goals of education
I don't understand
8 4 4 is exam based hence does fully capture goal number 3
It's true that 8_4_4 is exam oriented, does not emphasize on the needs and competencies of individual learner.
Goals which were not captured in 8.4.4 system.is goal number three whereby it was not learner centred because learners did not develop ones talents, interests, and charactor
Task no 3 was not captured in the previous system
Goal number 3 .This is seen in cbc.learners are able to develop their talents and self fulfilment 0
Goal no.3 was purely teacher centered, since learners are not given chance to develop their talents
No2 .. school leavers wait for employment rather than self employment that is cultivated in cbc
Teddy ochieng kisero
Goal Number 1.Foster nationalism.Communities can still look at each other eye to eye
Goal 2 Learners were not technologically equipped hence not fully productive.
Goal 2 Technology was not used in teaching and learning.
Goal 3 is not learner centrerd
Goal no 2.3 and goal 3. In the previous system ICT integration was mot emphasised as it is in the new curriculum. The previous system was exam oriented ie learners weren't given opportunity to exploit their talents
Goal number 2 has created job seekers instead creators of jobs
NEED TO EVALUATE ALL GOALS AGAIN ESPECIALLY RELATED TO TECHNOLOGY.
Goal2(3),was at least appreciated in town and not at country side(in the village).some private schools are accessible to the internet. This challenge was seen greatly during outbreak of Corona as private schools kept learning.Goal3,CBC has come to reduce pressure on parents as they appreciate there children now than in 8-4-4 where only children who scored highly were appreciated.CBC develops talents & creativity which can intern turn to once job/proffession.

I experience and have some understanding of CBC. Its apparently expensive.... how will goal (2) on national development and ( 5) on Equity be met given that majority of the students come from poor background ?
During a CBC training we were informed that there are ICT champions in every sublocation. That we also have ICT centers in given schools
Goal 2.3 and 3.0 have not been achieved because technological and industrial needs have not been fulfilled. Also most talents have not been nurtured.
Goal no. 5 .promotes responsible values to the learner as they are able to use their talents and became responsible citizen in the current education system C .B.C system
Goal No. 3 was not fully met in the 8.4.4 curriculum since the identification and nurturing of talents of individual learner was not well factored.
8.4.4. System was correctly teacher-centered and tailor made for white collar jobs. Through exams we were well assessed and trained by fewer teachers on less resources.
Mercy W Mwinyi
Goal 3.. The previous education system was basically on content hence the self esteem of learners was not met
Mishi n mwarimo
Goal 5.. has not been met by 8-4-4 as there's disparity among gender and social class.
844 was theoretical in nature with no Ict integration hence could not impart practical skills necessary to satisfy the industrial and technological needs of the 21 century learners. Hence goal no. 2 was not met.
Claudia M Imbayi
Goal no. 3 as it is not learner centered thus not allowing the learner to develop his or her talents, interests and character formation.
Chapter 2: CBC
Goal No 3
8.4.4. was Exam oriented and teacher centered. There was less learner participation and interaction.focused more on syllabus coverage without caring whether the learner has understood or no.it lacked hands on activities. There was little use of formative assessment but it was more limited to summative assessment. On the other hand, C.B.C is learner centered,The iearner's talents, and it is practical in approach.
Goal no 3 was not well met since it was teacher centered and exam oriented. Goal no 5 has not been met in 844 system because there's disperity among gender and social class.
No.3 Talents and potential wasn't nurtured
Goal no 3
Goal 2 on technology because it did not expose the lteacher and the learner on digital learning
8,4,4 Did not foster nationalism patrioti.sm and did not promote national unity
Technological issue as compared to now
All the goals of education were well stipulated as teachers we need to implement them in our day today. teaching and learning
Discuss goals of education in Kenya showing how each of them is reflected in the senior secondary school learning outcomes.
If equality was there then we shouldn't be having categories of schools
Anthony S Matasi
Goàl number 2 subsection 3 on Technological not met due to inadequate digital literacy Implementation .
Steve otundo Nyabinge
The 8.4.4 system was exam oriented it didn't expose learners to exploit their talents , interest and different competencies of the learners .
Wilson Mutunga Nzuki
Emphasize on exam in 8-4-4 has led to unnecessary competition leading numerous examination malpractices.
Goal No. 2.
we know that education should be holistic.is it possible to deschool the system during implementation of CBC?
Goal 1 there is occurrence of inter-ethnic clashes as an indicator that this goal is not fully met.
Goal no 3 not achieved coz 8-4-4 is teacher centred and exam oriented thus learners not equipped with Technological and industrial skills in line global trends
National goals of Education that were not fully met by the previous education system are:
844 exam oriented.Goal no.3 not well achieved.Talents and character not well developed for positive contribution to society.some students feel wasted after completing 844 they cannot fit in the areas they have studied.
Priscah Kemunto Mokua
Goal no 2 has not been realised cause some talents have not been natured well
Goal 3 was not captured in 8.4.4 because here the learner needs to be independent in economical specifically so that learners can create jobs for the selves in future
8-4-4 missed out on Goal 2 in that it didn't grow the requisite skills for Economic, technological and Industrial development for our young growing economy
National goal 2 is important it makes the learner an all round person it also looks at a person holistically not to relay on academic only but also to be creative and be able to face the challenges out there
goals that were not fully met are no 2 promotion of social, economic, technology and industrial needs for national development up to date this goal has not been utilized well since in some schools there is lack of ICT especially the arid areas
- Digital literacy is not well emphasized in 8-4-4
Goal three not well achieved because the curriculum is exam oriented this pupils lack time and opportunities to develop talents. This is because of lack of enough resources
8.4.4 was not able to meet the goals of national unity
very true. we are still miles to achieving national unity.
Goal No. 3
Our goals are repeated. It is just around diction and less on semantics. This has significantly affected our philosophy of education. We’ve changed our systems but the objectives haven’t changed to seal the gaps noted in previous systems. This, we find ourselves mark timing.
Goal number 2
Goal no 2 was never fully achieved ,8-4-4 is theoretical and does not really emphasize on the acquisition of skills necessary in development especially in industries.
1. Exam- oriented, instead of emphasis on individual Learners competencies is greatest undoing of 8-4-4, hence graduates who have no requisite skills & competencies.
