About the book:
Spotlight quick revision social studies by Thomas Gichana and John Rukwaro has been uniquely designed to be of great help to Standard 5 pupils in revising the Standard 5 Syllabus as well as preparing for the K.C.P.E. examination. The book is a useful tool to teachers who need an appropriate variety of questions for Continuous Assessment Tests, End-of-Term examinations and Model Test Papers.
The book is structured as follows:
There are 9 units covering the entire Class 5 Syllabus. Each unit has brief comprehensive notes in point form spotlighting the key points per topic.
At the end of each unit there are at least 20 structured and 20 multiple choice questions which comprehensively revise the content taught in that unit.
Units 4 and 5 have been specially presented to help Standard 5 pupils revise all the content on Resources and Economic Activities and Political Development and Systems in Kenya. This has been comprehensively summarized with the aid of diagrams1 tables and maps on the respective sub-topics.
Topics are spread into Term I, Il and Ill to guide both the pupils and the teacher in managing the syllabus content.
There are Three Termly Topical Test Papers at the end of Term I and II, and One Topical Test Paper at the end of Term Ill work that exhaustively cover the topics taught up to the respective terms. Pupils and teachers can use these questions to evaluate what has been taught at the end of each term.
