Attributes of God shown in the Jewish Passover

God is caring i.e. preserved the life of the Israelites.
God loves.
God is powerful i.e. took care of nature.
God is provider of life i.e. killed the Egyptians.
God is the creator and controller of human life.
God is universal e.g. controlled lives of the Egyptians and Israelites.
God is omnipresent i.e. everywhere including to the Israelite and the Egyptians.
God is faithful to his promises.
He punishes the disobedient.

Though Jesus was God/divine son, he was born of ordinary peasant parents (Mary and Joseph).
Jesus was born in a stable / manger.
Jesus’ birth was first revealed to shepherds (who were ordinary people)/ not first revealed to the priests in the temple/he was visited by the shepherds.
Lived ordinary life of a Jewish child (by undergoing the Jewish rites of passage / assisting his parents).
Though he was not a sinner, he was baptized by John the Baptist like all who sought repentance of sin.
He selected his disciples from low /high status e.g. sons of Zebedee – James and John who were of low status and all the others were of high status.
He preached the message to all – Jews/gentiles/poor/rich etc.
He called everybody to repentance/forgave all Jews/gentiles/poor/rich/etc.
He healed all Jews/gentiles/great/might/low
He mixed with all – rich/poor/famous/ordinary people/criminals/children etc
He reinstated the status of a woman as a helper not as subordinate to a man – any other relevant example.
In his parables, he used daily experiences from different life situations to address the audience-any parable of Jesus.
He was falsely accused like some people who suffer unjustly/crucified with other criminals.
He died like everybody else.
He condemned evil doers irrespective of status/oppression.

State lessons learnt from Jesus trial before pilate

Jesus is the messiah/son of God.
They should set a good example to others.
They should not misuse their power/authority
They should not accuse others falsely.
Jesus was innocent hence should be righteous like him. Pilate was experienced in law and found him innocent.
They should not be influenced by others to pass unfounded judgment to say or do wrong knowingly/should be firm in doing the right things.
They should always stand for the truth/be just.
They should investigate accusations to confirm the truth before passing any judgment on others.
They should exercise their authority in doing what is right/just.

A summary of accusations made against Jesus during His trial (Luke 22:66-23:1-23).

Jesus called Himself the Christ.
He claimed to be the son of God.
He was inciting people with His teaching.
He was opposing the payment of taxes to Caeser.
He had made Himself King of the Jews against the Roman authority.
Jesus had stirred up the people to revolt.
He was equating Himself to God i.e engaging in blasphemy.

Ways in which Christians can respond to false accusations

Praying for them/ pray for one.
Take courage.
Should not revenge/ retaliate against the accuser.
Seek Biblical guidance/ seek divine intervention.
Should not give up/ not discouraged.
Love the accuser/ immitate Jesus.
Do good to them.
Stand by the truth.
Avoid confrontation either verbal or physical.
Forgive those who accuse them falsely.
