1. ​St. Paul describes the believers as the body of Christ
2. Christ is the head of the church
3. The believers form parts of the body.
4. The body has different organs. In the same way the Church has different members
5. They all need to work together for the well being of the church.
6. Every part of the body is needed to make it whole /all parts are interdependent/ one part cannot be without the other.
7. The different church members are given different spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit to carry out God’s work.
8. Believers are united through baptism in the Holy Spirit.
9. There should be no division in the Church since all believers are members of the body of Christ
   

• ​Christians are the bride
• Jesus is the bridegroom.
• Christians/church are to be committed/faithful to Christ as the bride is committed/faithful to the bridegroom.
• The church is loved by Christ just as the bridegroom loves his bride.
• The church must remain pure/holy through love/faith in Jesus as the bride keeps her purity for her husband.
• The committed Christians will be taken to a new home/heaven just as the bride is taken home by her husband.
• The union between Christ and the church will be everlasting just as the union between the bride and the bridegroom is permanent.

​A right is a moral or legal entitlement to have or do something. As a Kenyan citizen you are entitled to;

Rights of a Kenyan Citizen;

1. Right to life / live
2. Right to have basic needs/ food / shelter / clothing
3. Right to receive education
4. Right to marry/ raise up a family / belong to a family
5. Right to have freedom of association / assembly
6. Right to freedom of speech / receive information / expression

8. Freedom of worship
9. Right to liberty / movement
10. Right to work / earn a living
11. Right to medical care / health
12. Right to security/ protection by law
13. Freedom of conscience / right to vote

1. To emulate Jesus who paid tax to the Roman authorities
2. To heed Jesus instructions to respect the civil authorities
3. Christians pay taxes in order to receive service from the government
4. To provide essential services
5. Christians pay taxes as a sign of patriotism
6. Christians pay taxes as a way of sharing their wealth! resources with others
7. It is their duty to pay taxes to the government
8. To enable the government to meet its financial obligations

1. Not to take part in strikes.
2. Encourage other people to find better means of solving problems.
3. To inform the authority of any grievances f they are not aware/mediate.
4. To pray for a solution to the problem/seek God’s guidance for a solution to the problem.
5. Should not take part in violent demonstrations/encourage peaceful demonstrations.
6. To report the matter to the nearest police station.

• Lack of respect to the employer by employees.
• Employees not given time for leisure/leave.
• Poor working conditions/environment! Poor/low remuneration.
• When the employees do not receive wages/ not paid in time.
• When employers fail to consider the welfare of employees/allowances.
• When employees fail to accomplish tasks within the expected time/poor time management.
• When employees are not allowed to join trade unions.

• Unequal chances of promotion/discrimination by the employer/lack of promotion.
• Sexual harassment by the employer.
• Differences in religious affiliation between employer and employees
• Racial/tribal/ethnic differences may bring conflict.
• Misuse/destruction of property by the employee.
• Divulging of secrets of the employer/ organization.

1. High population whereby there are too many people for the available job opportunities.
2. Lack of money to start individual businesses/unavailability of finances.
3. Some people lack skills which make them not to be absorbed in the job market.
4. Rural-urban migration:- many people are congested in towns where job opportunities are limited.
5. Foreign aid:- dependence on foreign aid causes the donors to give conditions of employment, that is lean service.
6. Selfishness/greed:- some Kenyans have more than two jobs, while others lack.
7. Education system:- many Kenyans prefer white collar jobs after school and because of stiff competition for available spaces, many remain unemployed.
8. Negative attitude towards work:- some Kenyans lack the initiative to do or participate in economic activities/just idle around.
9. Unequal distribution of wealth: Some regions have more resources that create employment than others.
10. New technological advances that has led to retrenchment.
11. Bribery/corruption is a social evil that denies jobs to those qualified

1. Christians meet for prayers/fellowship together.
2. They observe a day of worship to honour God.
3. They share the Holy communion/meals.
4. They help those who are poor/needy
5. They solve problems affecting the Church members
6. They hold joint crusades/rallies
7. They also cooperate by providing Christian programs in the mass media/ resource materials.
8. They speak in one voice to condemn evil in society

1. ​The people who had the gifts of speaking in tongues despised those who did not
2. There was competition in speaking in tongues
3. There was no interpretation of tongues hence messages were not understood
4. People did not show love to one another as they used the gifts of the Holy spirit
5. There was disorder/ confusion in worship as people with different gifts tried to outdo one another
6. People did not use their gifts for the growth/development of the church
7. Gifts such as prophecy/ teaching/ preaching were looked down upon

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

1. ​Christians should use the abilities that God has given them for the benefit of others.
2. Christians will be rewarded according to their performance.
3. Christians have been given different gifts/ abilities by God.
4. Christians will give an account of how they used their abilities.
5. Christians need to be obedient! honest.
6. God expects Christians to use opportunities provided for His glory.
7. Christians will lose their abilities if not put to use/punished.

1. Faith gives believers strength to overcome temptations/sin.
2. It enables them to forgive each other constantly
3. It makes even the weakest strong.
4. Enables believers to perform their duties without expecting material rewards.
5. Faith enables believers to work tirelessly because there is a lot of work to be done.
6. Faith leads to physical healing.
7. Faith enables believers to show gratitude to God for his blessings/benefits they have received from Him.
8. It enables them to experience the kingdom of God in their hearts.
9. It enables believers to enter the kingdom of God/receive eternal life.

Luke 17:11-19 New International Version (NIV)
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

1. ​It showed the people of Judah still had a future despite the coming crisis! Judah will regain freedom after conquest.
2. It was assurances that the people would be restored back to their homeland/reclaim their land.
3. It demonstrated that the people would resume their normal lives/construct homes/cultivate land/own property.
4. Divine judgment was not an end in itself
5. Restoration was to take place at God’s own time/God was to determine when the people would be restored back. (Time).
6. The people had to wait patiently for their return from exile.
7. It showed that God was loving/faithful/was to keep his promise of restoration/bring them back to their ancestral land.
8. It made them feel secure/they were not to lack anything

22 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”

6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, 7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?”

“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.

“The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

8 Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.

9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

15 The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18 and through your offspring[b] all nations on earth will be blessed,[c] because you have obeyed me.”

19 Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.

• God told Abraham to take his only son to the land of Moriah / offer him as a sacrifice,
• Abraham took his son, two servants and wood for burnt offering,
• They arrived at the place after a three day’s journey,
• Abraham commanded his servants to remain behind as he and Isaac went up to worship.
• He took Isaac, the firewood and the knife and went up.
• Isaac asked his father where the lamb for the offering would come from,
• Abraham told Isaac’ that God would provide the lamb for a burnt offering.
• When they arrived at the place God had commanded, Abraham build an altar.
• He bound Isaac, laid him on the altar upon the wood Abraham took the knife to slay his son but the angel of the Lord stopped him.
• Abraham saw a ram, which he offered instead of his son.
• He called the name of the place. The Lord will provide.
• The, angel appeared to Abraham a second time and gave him promises because of his obedience.
• Abraham returned with his men to Beersheba.
