​Reasons why Kenyans are attracted to the church today.

  1. It gives them a sense of belonging.
    ​Identity is the word. I belong to this church or that church.
  2. To join others in the worship
    The church is used as a social gathering area where people of different age groups, class, interests and gender meet.
  3. To grow and develop spiritually
    Nurturing faith
  4. To seek comfort and consolation
    Through repentance Christians feel comfortable and consoled
  5. To receive physical and spiritual healing.
    Gathering in church to hear the word of God interpreted by the preacher.
  6. To seek material help.
    Some go to church to seek help such as food, school fees etc.
  7. To uphold the family tradition
    My ‘father’ was in this church, I therefore should too.
  8. To seek God’s blessings
    Believers belief that going to church is to seek God’s blessings
  9. To appreciate the preacher or the choir.
    Showing some kind of togetherness with the preacher, choir and other members
  10. Peer influence
