Circumstance that led to the revelation of Surah Nur.

It was about the incident which happened to Aisha on the return from an expedition to Banu Mustaliq.
Aisha had left her tent in search for her necklace when she returned she found that the camp had left.
She sat down hoping someone will come to fetch her.
The next morning she was found by Safuan who had been left to remain behind to collect things .
When people saw them together they spread rumours about them of committing adultery.
The Surah was revealed to defend lady Aisha against the rumours.
It was also revealed o lay down rules and regulations on morality and various punishment and reprimand those who were spreading the rumours.
