There is no proper body accountable for the collection of zakat
Some muslims are not aware if there is any organization that is in charge of collecting zakat
Some rich people prefer to give zakat on their own
Corruption on the recipients as some of them do not deserve
There is little trust among the rich and those in charge of collecting zakat
Lack of data on who deserves zagat
Zakat is not paid at the same time
No information on who is supposed to give hence the rich do not want to disclose their wealth
Poverty levels are different (the society has many dynamics)
Lack of officials / authorized and recognized body to collect zakat

Introduced curriculum based on Islamic pillars.
Provided opportunities for peasants and workers to acquire literacy by opening adult education centres.
Wrote powerful articles on social, religious and political situations in the Arabic world.
It is movement continued with the Jihad and later turned it international and became known the international organization of Muslim brothers.
Published several papers to propagate Islam, the two most important daily papers where Ishwari Al-Muslimun in Egypt and Al – Manar in Damascus.
Founded centres where trading skills were imparted to the youths.
Many mosques were built to strengthen the people’s belief in the religion.
Through his movement, he ventured into social service work such as opening of clinics and dispensaries where the sick were given free medical treatment.
He was the first leader to achieve his results through actions rather than speech of writing.

You should give your Zakaat to the following:-
i. Al Fuqarah (the Poor)

Those people who cannot raise even 50% of their daily meals.

ii. Al Masakeen (the Needy)

Those who can raise 50% of their daily meals, but have nothing to save.

iii. Al Amiin (the Zakaat Collectors)

These are people employed by an Islamic state to work in the Department of Zakaat.

iv. Al Mualafatul Qulub (the New Converts)

These are the people who have accepted Islam.

v. Fi Riqaab (those in Slavery)

Zakaat money is used to free those who are in slavery and prisoners of war.

vi. Al Gharimeen ( the Debtors)

These are the people who have entered into a lawful trade but they did not succeed and they have borrowed money and were unable to pay.

vii. Fi Sabilillah (thse working in the cause of Allah)

These are the people who go out to defend their religion.

viii. Ibn Sabeel (Wayfarers)

These are the lost travelers. Those people who are away from their homes and are stranded and cannot reach their homes due to shortage of money.
